BBQ Spice Rub

This BBQ Spice Rub is what I prepare for vegetarian and meat recipes alike. It’s smoky, savory, sweetened with maple sugar, and packs a little kick.

This BBQ Spice Rub is what I prepare for vegetarian and meat recipes alike. It’s smoky, savory, sweetened with maple sugar, and packs a little kick. Initially I prepared this recipe for my Pulled Pork recipe, but grew to love it in many other ways. To try for yourself, keep on scrolling!

Combine all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir until well incorporated. Another option is to add to a small container with a lid and shake. OR! You can add all the ingredients to a spice mill or mortar and pestle, then grind and toast in a small skillet (1-2 min over medium-low heat) for an even more aromatic blend!

Store in an airtight jar until ready to season to your heart’s content. Enjoy!

  • I enjoy using this full amount as a spice rub for my Pulled Pork recipe, which is super delicious, and is great on its own, paired with a pasta, or used for tacos! Yum!
