This version is a result of trying to remember the recipe year after year (in frustration). Though, finally, I put my foot down and suggested developing and documenting a version of our own. Now, because we fine-tuned to our preferences, it is our favorite version of this dip! Though taste is totally subjective, feel free to use this recipe as a base for your own!

Recipe as follows:

Measure all seasonings, and add all ingredients to a mixing bowl.

Stir to combine, then cover, and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

When ready, remove the dip from the fridge and stir again. Slice the top of the bread, then remove the center to create a well.

Place on a plate or surface of choice, then fill the bread bowl with dip. Surround the bread bowl with cubes of bread.

Dip into, and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Can’t find chipped beef? Roast Beef or Corned Beef, minced, is an alternative.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit using meat. For a vegan dip, swap the sour cream and mayonnaise for vegan alternatives. Taste test and adjust as needed.
  • This dip without the meat is also an amazing dill dip to pair alongside fresh vegetables!
